River Wansbeck
Above the weir so non tidal, very easy flat paddle. Put in at Wansbeck Paddle sports club, and it's pretty clear running straight up to the stepping stones at Morpeth. From launch point to stepping stones and back is rough 6.7 miles, and there are a few places to stop off on route for a break if wanted. At the Sheepwash bridge, the river has two areas, always stick to the left fork, the other goes up into concreted spillway from the fields. Apparently you can actually go as far the the Neuk inn and get out at the bridge up there, which is a longer route but haven't tried yet!
Parking is available next the the launch points, but please check if the rowers etc are in first, they get priority as they own the site but as long as we are considerate they will be totally fine with us. If it's a busy rowing day and we can't use the pontoon, we are always welcome to park at black close car park (about 100m away) and use the slipway instead.
Yes
Pontoon available when the rowers are not using, otherwise access via slipway.

Very chill water, like a long lake through lovely wildlife areas. My favourite local spot
