Description

Lovely beach launch at Tynemouth, next to the castle. Very sheltered cove used by local sailing and kayaking clubs. Excellent fish and chips here too!

Parking Information

Priors Haven car park is free and closest, but a bit of a down hill walk. Lightweight craft recommended. Spanish battery carpark also close by but that's pay and display.

Great sheltered launch for beginners to sea kayaking, but always be careful or tides, surf height etc. Whitley bay has an online surf cam you can look at to gauge nearby conditions.
