River Annan 1 other launch locations
Hoddom bridge and downstream to Annan is a gentle paddle on the slow part of the Annan as it widens out, quite popular with local kayaking groups. Town nearby is nice too to visit. Places to stay nearby, but not many wild camping opportunities on this one as it's pretty agricultural.
Parking is a bit dodge, just be careful and park on the road without blocking the farmers gate. Alternatively, you can park at the golf club/campsite but last time I went they did charge for parking. The club house did nice food though
Yes
Gravel beach launch or bank launch.
Yes
There are 2 weirs en route but they can be shot pretty easily, aim for the middle point and go straight over. Alternatively you can portage, the first is at Brydekirk village (nice pub here) and the second is after the big island. River becomes tidal at Annan so would suggest getting out fairly soon after the A75 road bridge. If the tide is up it's harder paddling against the current but you can keep going into the estuary.
